What a heart breaking time for Pat's family and friends. I have such great memories of her happy smile and fun personality at St. Mary's Academy. I feel so blessed to have seen her as recent as July when she and her classmates came to my booksigning in Bement, IL, my hometown. What a great surprise and joy that was. My prayers are with you Bill, and all her many family and friends.

My heart aches for the Stecher & Bulfer families. I was a high school classmate of "Stecher's" (we all called each other by our last name) at St. Mary's Academy, Class of '68, Nauvoo, Il. I have fun memories of Pat. She was an absolute joy to be around. She was so funny and could make me laugh until the tears ran down my legs. We got together a few times after high school at the reunions or somewhere to have some adult beverages & tell a joke or two. I was recently with Pat in Bement, Il along with some other classmates at a book signing by a former teacher of ours at SMA. Pat looked great, had a beautiful smile on her face and bubbling with her fun personality. Pat, you will be missed so much. Rest in peace, my dear friend & classmate. My thoughts and prayers are with the Stecher & Bulfer families. May God bless & hold all of you in the palm of His hand and help you through this most difficult time.
